Traitors are not welcome in a company of true Americans. Call Obama and
tell him you need a job.
The people who voted for oBOMBa don't want a job they want "free
Money."
As a business owner who employs 30 people, I was already resigned to the
fact that Barack Obama will be our next President and that my taxes and
fees will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that my customers will have
to see an increase in my fees to them of about 8%. I will also have to
lay off 6 of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are
family here and didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled through the parking lot and found 10
Obama bumper stickers on my employees' cars. I have decided these folks
will be the first to be laid off.

I can't think of another fair way to approach this problem. I checked
with a labor lawyer, and I am allowed to do this.

Not proven. In fact, it's a baseless assumption.

Obama has promised to raise taxes. He's also promised more "oversight"
(read: regulations) which will further cost employers money.

Yeah, it's good that we didn't have regulations in the banking and

Sure you did. I have already seen this floating around the internet.

In fact, the boss at my sister's workplace thought it was so funny he
sent it around. My sister got pissed and went to her bosses boss with
a complaint. Her old boss no longer has a job.

Ironic, isn't it, that the phrase "free money" is actually used in Sarah
Palin's Alaska to refer to the annual handout -- $3,269 this year -- given
to all citizens, and derived from royalities paid by oil companies.

Let's review.
You look around your employees, who you feel are "family", and decide
that the way a few of them voted made them not "family" anymore.
You need to lay off six, so you decide on 10 instead. Without knowing
yet how much or if your taxes will go up.
Now there are 10 less people with money to spend in your community;
you will be paying their unemployment until they find new jobs. You're
shorthanded, the employees you kept are overworked and angry with you,
and there are 10 angry, jobless people who not only won't be spending
money on your business but will be directing family and friends not to
do so as well. Ever hear the old rule? make a customer happy and you
have a customer, make them angry and you lose 10? Now you have lost
the business of 100, as well as the business of any of the angry
employees who quit due to bad working conditions and their family and
friends. Since these are presumably McCain supporters, now you've lost
Republican business as well as Democrat business.
Thus starts the downward spiral. It will take years of work to rebuild
your standing in the community, because you didn't like Obama and
decided to throw a tantrum over it.
What business did you say you were in again? It isn't plumbing, is it?

Your ignorance about business in general and your obviously fake one
in particular is showing in the fact that you are keeping employees
that you already know are unproductive, slacking and internet surfing,
simply because they (presumably) vote Republican. I don't think the
failure of your hypothetical business to survive is the fault of any
government regulation (particularly one that hasn't happened) but the
result of faulty management.
Blaming others for personal failures seems to also be in vogue among
the Republican party. Take a cue from McCain and put it where it
belongs.

You need to lay off six, so you decide on 10 instead. Without knowing
yet how much or if your taxes will go up.
No, I haven't needed to lay off anyone, quite yet. I identified 10,
from among whom the first six - or seven, or nine - will be culled.

Now there are 10 less people with money to spend in your community;
you will be paying their unemployment until they find new jobs.
No, I'll be paying somewhat higher UIC contributions, but nowhere near
as much as those ex-employees would be costing me in terms of operating
losses. As far as these people not having money to "spend in the
community": why isn't this a concern of the excessive-regulation crowd,
who ought to know by now that this is the result?
Because they have some pretty solid proof of what underregulation
does.
No such thing.

Let's review.
You look around your employees, who you feel are "family", and decide
that the way a few of them voted made them not "family" anymore.
It's called "tough love". They need to learn.
Learn what? Not to exercise their right to vote?
No, learn about economics, politics, and the interplay between them.
They need to learn about job-killing heavy-handed government regulation,
and the equally stifling effects of income redistribution.
My guess is they already have over the past eight years.
